Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice on business development opportunities, including M&A, joint ventures, and strategic alliances.
• Lead and manage the legal aspects of due diligence processes for potential acquisitions and partnerships.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex transaction agreements, ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation.
• Advise on corporate structuring and governance related to new business ventures.
• Collaborate closely with business development, finance, and operational teams to achieve strategic goals.
• Manage legal risks associated with international expansion and new market entries.
• Stay updated on relevant corporate and commercial laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of post-qualification experience, with a strong focus on corporate law, M&A, and business development support.
• Demonstrated experience in leading complex transactions and negotiations.
• Excellent understanding of corporate finance, securities law, and contract law.
• Proven ability to provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice.
