About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Remote Corporate Lawyer to join their globally distributed legal team. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for providing expert legal advice on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, compliance, and contract negotiations. This role demands a proactive approach, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to thrive in an independent, remote work environment, contributing significantly to the company's legal strategy without geographical constraints.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal counsel on complex corporate transactions, including M&A, joint ventures, and corporate restructuring.
• Draft, review, and negotiate high-value commercial agreements and international contracts.
• Ensure compliance with corporate laws, regulations, and internal policies across different jurisdictions.
• Advise on corporate governance best practices and assist with board and shareholder matters.
• Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations and strategic initiatives.
• Conduct legal due diligence for potential investments and acquisitions.
• Collaborate effectively with internal business teams and external counsel via virtual communication channels.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate or M&A law.
• Proven expertise in handling complex corporate transactions and providing strategic legal advice.
• Strong understanding of company law, contract law, and related commercial regulations.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage deadlines, and deliver high-quality work remotely.
